Welcome to my Blog!

This is the place for sneak previews, to get to know me and probably my girls a little better, after all they are my muses!

Creativity is in the blood in my family, from writers, dressmakers, painters and the odd photographer or two, it’s no wonder it’s a passion of mine. I admit, I have tried my hand at other crafts, but photography and I have had a long standing love affair from an early age.

Enjoy the previews and feel free to leave a comment or two.

Mother’s Day

As a mum myself I know all too well how everyday life can sometimes have us taking for granted the moments of childhood, family and  appreciation of our own mother’s and grandmother’s.  This year why not treat the mum in your life to the gift of photography and capture those precious moments between mother and child of all ages.

This very special 1 hour session can be shot at home or any location you choose ( for older kids I would recommend this) and as part of this offer every mum* will receive a framed 5×7 print of her choice .

To take up this offer please use the contact form at the top of the page or Email me for more details

*One frame per booking.

It’s been a while…

… in fact a very long while since my youngest daughter has let me shoot her and sometimes with a little planning you have a quick session where it all just comes together , perfect light, a more than willing model and a great location, I’ll have to further investigate Chobham Common and make time to have a few more creative shoots with my two girls.

I have to say that I was quite shocked to see just how grown up my youngest is now looking in some of these shots, although H is more than impressed and I’m sure she will have plastered them all over facebook this evening.

Coffee morning

I got to spend a few hours with this beautiful family in London this morning, along with two doting  grandmothers, such a relaxed session it really was like popping round for coffee. The children were fantastic and so well behaved,  it really was a pleasure.

N&M it was so lovely to finally met you all.  Enjoy the preview, a few more than I would normally put up, but I was spoilt for choice.

Yummy Mummy

I consider myself very lucky to work with some great clients in their beautiful homes and yesterday was no exception. I arrived in London with the sun shining to be met by A, a rather stunning yummy mummy, who was more than happy to let me wander round her home to get some ideas and very open to my suggestions. These are just a few of my many faves from the session.

A & J you were such fun to work with, I am already looking forward to working the you and the rest of your family again.  Enjoy.

Nursery shoots with a difference

As a location photographer I strive to stay away from white backdrops as much a possible, not there is anything wrong with these, I just love to shoot children and families using whatever natural backdrops are available. With that in mind I have had the opportunity to do a series of mini sessions at a fantastic local nursery, Littluns Day Care in Surrey, using the nursery, house and grounds to create something a little different and allowing the kids personalities to shine though.

If you would be interested in booking a session for your nursery please Contact me for more details

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

So what’s the only thing a photographer can do when it snows, grab a willing, model, daughter, art student who is prepared to with stand freezing temperatures for the sake of her mothers creative side. So armed with various props, a willing bag holding assistant we braved the local woods on day 2 of our snow fall  in Surrey.  Thankfully for Jaz it was a little quieter as most of the kids has got their kicks the previous day.

Just a few shots from our mini session, and don’t worry she did have a heavy coat within arms reach, and jeans on under the skirt…… I’m not that cruel   ;)

David Bier - You got your daughter to lie down bare-shouldered in the snow? That is either cruel or very impressive...or a bit of both...January 13, 2010 - 6:55 pm

alexj - she's pretty game on for most shoots, the outfit and laying in the snow were her idea's, she's a student after all so up for most things :)January 13, 2010 - 8:02 pm

Winter Wedding, London Style

Having met this lovely couple quite a few months ago, I kind of had a feeling that this was one wedding I was really going to enjoy capturing. From the moment Gemma mentioned Choccywoccydoodah (a fabulous wedding cake company based in Brighton) I new that there were going to be certain touches that would rings bells in my own ears.

Gemma had chosen the most beautiful Jenny Packham wedding dress, which just looked stunning.  From the wonderful service in her local church with the most accommodating Rector, to the London bus ride into the City and finally arriving at the magnificent Guildhall, what a day.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs P and thank you for looking after me so well, enjoy this preview and drop me a line when you return from your honeymoon.

Little live wire

Such a bundle of fun despite the start of the winter colds that have been doing the rounds.  This little one has been walking for a while now and can certainly move fast and seems to have no fear even when launching herself off the end of mum and dad’s bed.  She was so cute and I got lots of cuddles which made taking shots rather more of a challenge as my lap made the perfect seat on more than one occasion!

Enjoy the preview guys, it was so lovely to meet you all and shoot in your beautiful home.
